We live in a world that is quick to criticize and slow to build up. But the Scripture calls us to a different standard.

Hebrews 10:24–25 says: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another."

That word — encourage — is not a suggestion. It is a command wrapped in love.

Encouragement is ministry

Every believer is called to be an encourager. You do not need a pulpit. You do not need a platform. You need a willing heart and a few honest words.

Think of someone in your life right now who is carrying a heavy burden. Have you spoken life over them this week? A text, a call, a prayer — these are not small things. They are the work of the Kingdom.

Practical ways to encourage today

  • Send one message of genuine encouragement to someone who is struggling
  • Pray specifically for a friend by name before you start your day
  • Show up — physically or virtually — for someone who feels alone

Encouragement costs you nothing but intention. And it can change everything for the person on the receiving end.

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up." — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Be the encouragement someone needs today. That is ministry. That is the call.
